The new website is part of a National Republican Party initiative called “Bank your Vote.”
Local GOP Vice Chairman Shawn Gumataotao said, “So we have a dedicated site for Guam that's basically here to help us educate, to encourage, and activate Republican voters kind of where, when, how to get their vote and do it as early as possible as we begin this big push towards Decision 2024.”
He said it's a game changer that provides a direct digital connection to communicate with party members.
“Obviously their name and where they live is the big one for us so we would know if they voted on election day then it forces us to say okay that person has voted for us I can go to the next person that might not have had a chance to, hey we gotta give you a heads up, you gotta get out there and vote,” said Gumataotao.
And make no mistake, Republicans will be pushing hard to regain the legislative majority they lost fourteen years ago.
Gumataotao said, “The party's excited about the slate of candidates that it's bringing together. And we're just starting. And we can't forget Nestor, the mayors and the vice mayors races. Those are becoming the most critical to not only ensuring that we have a Republican majority, but I know everyone is asking what about Adelup, what about the Governors office, but the road to Adelup does not happen unless there's a successful midterm in 2024.”
The bank-your-vote.com website is translated into 16 different languages, and specific to Guam. There's a Tagalog version to accommodate the more than 30% local Filipino-Guamanian population.
